Airports: Toulouse, Bordeaux, and Bergerac are all each 1hr15/30mins drive from the house.

Amenities

The historic village of La Romieu is 5 mins (drive) away with 2 lovely restaurants in the main square where its lovely to sit outside for dinner. There is also a boulangerie (bread and croissants very good from here) a newsagent and grocery store.

All amenities in Condom with restaurants, café bars, supermarkets (Intermarche), traditional markets and shops.

Markets - French markets are incredible, you'll find everything from incredible French food to fashion and art. 

Condom major market is on Wednesday morning with a smaller one on Saturday morning.

Nerac - Saturday's market here is not to be missed.

​

Look out for the night markets at Vic Fezensac, with their stalls and cafés.

​

Lectore and Fleurance also have markets but worth checking. 

The Region

The Gascons are warm-hearted people and the owners enjoy good neighbours who are always ready to help their guests. The regional food and wine is excellent with foie gras and confit de canard being the specialities.



This is a beautiful area; surrounded by hills, amid cornfields and vines, at an average height of 82 meters, the region enjoys a micro-climate with lush, luxuriant plants in summer, which even in winter keep most of their foliage thanks to a mild average temperature (about 13°) which is hardly different from that of Biarritz and Marseille in the deep south.



Lectoure (10 km) also has a good selection of shops and restaurants. Golf at Fleurance, 20 min drive.
